Critic Review - Newark Star-Ledger

Unfortunately, "Attack the Block" makes two crucial mistakes: It doesn't have great monsters. And it doesn't have great heroes.

Wow. You can't appreciate a small budget? The monsters are a tribute to old films like Critters or Gremlims. And you want another 200 million Transformers film? Take some advice: LESS IS MORE.

I love the comment CreedsDelight made. What do you really want Whitty? Its low budget film just crapped on the 200 mill Transformers movie.

A film need not great heroes to be enjoyable, there are plenty of great villains.

Whitty's review of this movie is an interesting peek inside Whitty's mind. Glad I don't live there. This movie was awesome, and especially so considering the low budget and newbie talent. Every performance was strong and effective, which must be a tribute to the director, who also, by the way, wrote the hilarious script which makes the most of interplay between the characters, and with one-liners that consistently cracked up the hip audience.

Basically, "they're black, hence not worth watching". This Whitty man is not very clever at all.

Chelsea is an idiot! This guy's review is dumb and very distasteful, but your going to make it a race thing. He's right they aren't great heroes, but this movie isn't about heroes, it's about survival.

I personally thought the aliens looked very well done. "Too black, you can't see" I believe one of the kids said something around those lines. They looked good, and terrifying enough, even though the film is horror-comedy. A low budget horror-comedy. What else would you expect?! Your argument fails.

I really wanted to enjoy this film, sadly i left disappointed, the monsters were ho hum, the heroes indecipherable. Could anybody understand a word they were saying in this film? This is no Hot Fuzz or Shaun Of The Dead, two vastly supeior films.

"Heroes were indecipherable" GTFO Do you want the local actors to sound like English gentlemen? Ever heard of authenticity?

This movie is all about heroism. Moses is not only a hero to the block but trumps ideas of stereotypes through a fast-paced story of redemption. Get that snitch!
