Dr. Evil to Star in "Austin Powers 4"
Summary
Mike Myers has two of the most lucrative comedy franchises in history, with "Austin Powers" and "Shrek." As "Shrek the Third" rolls out to theaters, with Dreamworks planning "Shrek 4" and other spin-offs, Myers has not laid his international man of mystery to rest yet either. Back to Article

SpikesInMySkull writes: on May 07 2007 05:16 AM I thoroughly enjoy Austin Powers movies, however I move that as a condition of seeing any forthcoming Austin Powers movies, eveyone in the audiance has to wear a gag for a year afterwords, except at meals during which they get their tongues chopped out if they speak. puablo writes: on May 07 2007 07:01 AM Wow... talk about weird coincidences. Just yesterday I was thinking about how the original Austin Powers movie came out ten years ago and then got to wondering whether they would ever try to make a fourth movie. I think it went downhill with Goldmember but I was thinking that Mike Myers probably has some creative new ideas after this length of time. So to see a story like this today is very strange to me - stranger still, I think I approve. (Reply to this) |

Vitamin M writes: on May 07 2007 07:36 AM I would love to see another Austin film as long as it's better then Goldmember. the orginal Powers movie is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. But he should have some new material maybe if he targets the resurgence of the spy film like the Bourne films and Casino Royale. Austin goes gritty realistic! (Reply to this) |

unbreakable_samurai writes: on May 07 2007 08:42 AM One from Dr. Evil's point of view could be pretty cool. I thought the 2nd one was the best and yes honestly the first was my least favorite. (Reply to this) |

~*Admiral Snowstorm*~ writes: on May 07 2007 01:49 PM Yeah, the films got progressively worse. It's a shame. But hey, this is an interesting idea. As said before, even at its worst, Austin Powers is still pretty funny. I'd hate to see it run into the ground, but I think they could at least chance one more movie, especially if it's from Dr. Evil's point-of-view. And, again nodding at an above poster, there's been a resurgence of spy movies. Casino Royale especially could be played up to great effect in this movie, if they so desired. There's plenty of new material to toy with since Goldmember was turned out. Let's see what the producers make of it. (Reply to this) |

killermonkey8822 writes: on May 07 2007 10:00 PM ha ha i have to say that i enjoy austin power's PG-13 crudness alot it's probably one of the best PG-13 comedys out there.......... the first one was the best though and the second one was pretty funny as well but not nearly as funny or original as the first film......... goldmember was a different matter i liked michael caine's character enough but i hated beyonce's foxxy cleopatra like does she really think she is that funny i dunno....... i liked the rest of the movie though it kept me entertained enough anyway but the beginning was the only real original part with tom cruise and stuff...... damn that was halerious i almost pissed myself at that part........ but the rest of the movie, though often funny, used some of the same jokes as the two previous austion power movies which kindof made me mad........ overall though i found all three movies very entertaning i don't think a 4th film would be a good idea as well........ whatever happened to mike meyers after austin powers he kindof bailed on us to do weird underground movies that nobody has heard of and the cat in the hat i want to see something interesting from him as he is a very funny actor......... love guru (whatever it is) sounds interesting maybe this will finally be something original and halerious like wayne's world and make a huge comeback for mike meyers......... well i'm hoping so i have missed him. Infernal writes: on May 08 2007 12:22 AM Fantastic. Can't wait. I'd love to see what Myers has to offer after his rest. And I'd like to see how it's going to go now that Dr. Evil is joining Austin Powers. You've got his son. So what will happen? Will HE be the villain? That would be insanely hilarious. I only wish they could get this together faster. (Reply to this) |

Ultimale069 writes: on May 08 2007 01:01 PM The first Austin Powers was easily the best and one of the best comedies of all time. I know its one of my favorate movies. He did cop-out with the sequels; while they had their laughs, they were pretty much cut and paste plots from the original. (Reply to this) |

taheed123 writes: on Mar 08 2008 05:35 PM Why is it that so many of you can't accept that movies are for entertainment value and you shouldn't get angry if a sequel isn't as good or better than the original. Its a sequel! You knew what you were going to see. I also find it funny that you all find it so necessary to criticize movies so much to somehow make yourselves feel like you are sophisticated and smart. Hahahaha, I'd like to see you make a good movie. All three movies are hilarious, some are funnier than others of course but they are all great movies. Why bash any of them? To make yourselves feel like you have something important to say? So funny. I laugh at people that get so fired up about movies and seem to feel offended by one's they don't like. Get a life!!!!
