There's Word of a New "Austin Powers" Sequel -- Two Words, Actually
by Scott Weinberg | October 12, 2005
Discuss Article
Fans of the long-running (and seriously profitable) "Austin Powers" series may just have a new sequel to kick around ... depending on whom you ask. Mike Myers says one thing, Michael York says another -- but one thing's certain: Key people ARE discussing a fourth "Powers" play, most likely to be released in tandem with the next 007 movie.

From Entertainment Weekly: Myers is "discussing a fourth Austin Powers film for New Line. ''There is hope!'' says Myers of the latter. ''We're all circling and talking to each other. I miss doing the characters.''"

From DarkHorizons.com: "UK Blockbuster Video's mini-mag recently interviewed Michael York and asked when we might we see "Austin Powers" back on the screen. York said "Mike hasn't told me. He never tells anyone until the very last minute. I have heard that they want to do a new one to coincide with the release of the next James Bond movie though. Since 007 is going to be younger in that movie, they're considering doing a Young Austin movie. I don't know if Mike would even be involved - It would be someone playing his son, and probably Seth Green playing Dr Evil Junior - so I guess that would definitely count me out. Still, if I'm asked - I'd love to be involved"."

So maybe we'll get the same "old" Austin, or maybe we'll get an all new "young" version. Either way, you can bet that New Line is absolutely salivating at the prospect of an all-new AP adventure.

Probably Daniel Craig, he was in LayerCake, Love is the Devil, and the first Tomb Raider.

I don't think myers is so stupid to do a 'young' Austin.

He's been waiting for a good script, also, he wants to play all the roles.

I expect a big Dr. Evil performance with lots of stars and Austin coming at the end.

This Franchise still has one big hit in it.

If Myers misses doing his characters, there's no way he would do a younger version. Plus a younger version would suck.

I think it would be GREAT if there was a new AP movie, but as the same Austin not a young one.

Quoting Austin Powers movies tends to be more fun than actually watching the movies, so it will be nice to get some new quotes, at least.

Young Austin Powers: Horrible Idea.
Trying to do Austin Powers without Mike Myers is like trying to do Indiana Joens without Harrison Ford. It just isn't possible.

#3. Fat Bastard s not fat any more
#4. They ran out of sexual enduendos (spelled wrong) to name the girls

Eh.
This series would be nothing without Myers. I'm sure he realizes that by now. If there is another sequel, I'm sure Evil's son will be in it. You all saw the ending of the third one. But Myers knows if there's gonna be a successful sequel, he's going to be the man. You cannot just toss away Doctor Evil, Fat Bastard, and Austin. Insane, that is.

And actually, Harrison Ford is not that great of actor in Indiana Jones. Well, in my opinion, anyway.

Ford's roles are far too serious for my liking. Meh, I don't know.

I think it will be Evil and Austin against Evil's son.

They could still have a lot of fun taking some Bond moments and parodying them.

1. Andress's bikini scene...expect Evil coming out of the surf.

ect.

Myers has said repeatedly that he's waiting for the right script...he's rich enough and cares about his legacy now.

the son will probably turn dr. evil evil again, or it will turn out to be a big schemeagianst austin, but one way or the other, dr. evil will be the bad guy again or the movie will flop
