Critic Review - Chicago Sun-Times

There is still at least one man in Hollywood who knows how to spend $250 million, or was it $300 million, wisely.

My email is chloesworld2000@hotmail.com thankyou. .avatar review. I was dissapointed with this movie .it has the best effects I have ever seen but effects are all this movie has to other.the story acting and charactor development are not enough to back peoples statements that refer to this as the best movie ever . people r getting lost In the effects and cart see this movie for what it really is .this movie is fun to look at but that's it. So I'm rating it a 3 out of 5 based on the effects

I'm glad Ebert appreciates this movie. I'm surprised how many common viewers are haters of this good movie.

Of course Ebert, James Cameron is perfect at making movies of over a $200 million budget like this one for example, overused and ovbious CGI just like a Halo styled video game even though its a live action film, a story very similiar to Pocahontas, Dances With Wolves and 20th Century Fox's 1992 film Fern Gully and poor developed characters. For a film thats meant to be a technical breakthrough by being a blockbuster is just dissapointing.
If Peter Jackson directed it, he would film it in New Zealand or a real rainforest instead of using a greenscreen for the locations and only place the CGI characters and effects which would be more of a live action film than a Playstaion 3 game and not to mention an orignal story too.
