Picture Gallery of the Week: Avatar We're treading ever closer towards Avatar's December 18 release date, and with each new batch release of promo material, we can solidify our expectations. The mechs look cool, the blue people are still very, um, blue, and the shots of Sigourney Weaver almost guarantee this to be a badass movie. Wait...is that Joel David Moore (of Grandma's Boy and The Hottie and the Nottie) behind her? Never mind. Browse the gallery |

Poster of the Week: Capitalism: A Love Story Let's put aside all our opinions and thoughts on Michael Moore and enjoy this Swiss poster of Capitalism on its own terms. It's not too bad, isn't it? Clearly the designer was going for a Shepard Fairey/Obama poster feel, using only strong icons and the colors of the American flag, though I like the oppressive use of red, signaling Moore's reliably fiery arguments. Video of the Week: A Nightmare on Elm Street teaser If Michael Bay is thinking about doing something smaller while producing all these horror films and remakes, why doesn't he just direct one himself already? It'll be compact, bloody, violent, and he'll have an even better excuse to film the midriffs of young nubile girls. Watch the video. |

Tyrant writes: on Oct 02 2009 04:40 PM Looking forward to the new Freddy movie, and after some digging (and seeing what his face looks like without shadows covering it) I can safely say I like his new look (more realistic burns, blisters/boils, the works). He just looks great. Hopefully it'll be good, I've actually got some hope for this one. (Reply to this) |

Mehone T. writes: on Oct 02 2009 08:09 PM Not that angry about Stan Helsing, since I hated what it's spoofing anyways. And why hate on romantic comedies? There have been a few good ones lately, but I can get with you on torture porn though, shock factor does not equal entertainment for me anymore. (Reply to this) |

ledawg1138 writes: on Oct 02 2009 09:19 PM In reply to this comment (#2550484) Now, I don't wanna seem like a jerk (too late, I know) but, what rom coms have been good in recent years? I mean, name me some. I might just be forgetting. (Reply to this) |

Paints Hz Shirt Red writes: on Oct 02 2009 09:24 PM Im excited to see how Avatar turns out. We pretty much know the story from the trailer, you know, the "discovering some foreign land then claiming it for themselves then getting in a territorial war with the locals then one of the intruders falling for one of the locals and having a change of heart" story. Its the visuals that im waiting for. (Reply to this) |

tomwaitsjr writes: on Oct 04 2009 08:45 AM I just saw Nightmare on Elm Street again. From memory, I gave it 4 stars on Netflix, thinking about what I thought about it almost 20 years ago when I first saw it. I was also excited to see Johnny Depp, knowing what he would become. . . Well. . . it's simply not that good on a lot of levels. The way the women would run was laughable. The make-up/gore was very very bad in a lot of scenes. A lot of times where before makeup you can see a little jump before the special effect, etc. . . Now, for me, it's a 2 star out of 5 film. I have some hope for the re-make, knowing they are changing some of what is in the story with more about the origin as displayed in the trailer. . . (Reply to this) |

Keyser Soze writes: on Oct 04 2009 11:27 AM ok i'll admit that at first i thought stan helsing was a fairly clever screen name for an RT member...i was sorely mistaken. Which will be worse - Stan Helsing or Translymania? One awesome romantic comedy was Forgetting Sarah Marshall. And my least favorite torture porn movie ever has to be Wedding Crashers. (Reply to this) |

tomwaitsjr writes: on Oct 04 2009 12:31 PM Keyser Soze as a screen name? I understand. Stephen Baldwin as your avatar? Not so much. . . (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Oct 04 2009 05:34 PM Is anyone else impressed by how the buzz for Avatar has died since the release of the trailer? I mean it wasn't that bad, but excitement about it with a few diehard exceptions seemed to have died. (Reply to this) |
