Correction: "real fans" never set foot in a theater that was playing the first AvP because they know the difference between artistic film-making and lowest-common-denominator-money-grubbing. Why would I have given Fox my hard-earned cash to see Paul Anderson nose-dive my favorite (and their best) franchise into the ground while collecting millions of dollars? Please.

I just caught the new Red Tape trailer for AVP 2 and it looks pretty damn good !!!

NO more Mr Nice Predator , it looked like he killed more humans in the trailer than Aliens , it was seriously pretty Bada$$ . I know we all have our doubts about this movie since the last AVP was sort of a joke , but seriously take a look at the trailer , it looks like they may have got this one right , i know it is hard to say that after 2 min trailer , but it seriously looks like they have managed to salvage both the Aliens and the Predators reputation and if i was not mistaken i did see Mr Pred taking on a Pred-Alien ...

You're not. I didn't find AVP to be all that bad; it was stupid sci fi fun for our generation.

As for the title, well, at least it's better than 'Survival of the Fittest'.

I am getting kind of excited to see this movie now ...

Each time i watch the new trailer i see some pretty kick a$$ things that give me hope for this movie . The amount of blood in this trailer is more then in all of AVP , Predator is kickin serious a$$ , Aliens are killin as they should and i could swear that there is a Predalien in the trailer .

I am thinking the Strause Bros have done this justice

I found AVP pretty entertaining.The new one should have Arnold doing a cameo of some government expert on the Predator?50 bucks says Lance Henrickson will be back in some form,probably as an android?I'd like to see a remake of that 1983 flick with Scott Glen called The Keep,that would be awesome!But this new AVP flick will be cool,I'll wait for the DVD so I can kick back and watch it with a six pack!

For those who dont know - Randy Stradley already wrote a book (Prey) which kind of follows the 1st AVP movie. The sequel takes place where the 1st movie left off... The character played by Sanai Lathan is supposed to go with the Predators, train and become assimilated with the hunter culture- giving the audience a more in depth look at the predators life. Unfortunately, this movie will probally cut and paste some of that story, add some CGI fight scenes and call it a wrap- MY ADVICE read the Stradley versions of ALIENS vrs PREDATORS.

also in predator they kind of set you up when danny glover was like in its lair or w.e and you saw like alien heads and body parts when i saw it i was like wtf is goin on but i saw AVP and i thought the script and story and acing was bad but the alien fight scenes were good it was kinda like snakes on a plane for me it was so bad it made me laugh but at the same time enjoy hopefully the second will do the same : )

Everyone including me needs their Alien fix now and then, but this is all we're left with unfortunatly (despite the kind of cool trailer)

It looks as though the brothers Strause have taken the PG-13 criticism to heart... perhaps a bit too much since the trailer is, more or less, a montage of death. I am willing to bet they took that criticism and ran with it, but did little to help the film's intelligence or plot.

It doesn't take a great director to show thirty people being killed by monsters. It takes a great director to make it MEAN something, and it doesn't look like that's what we have here. It looks to me like a bunch of gratuitous gore and violence for the sake of violence. Paying tribute to the R rated Alien series takes more than upping the death toll. It takes mature film making and artistry, not low-brow bloodbaths.
