(Red Band) Trailer Bulletin: Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem
Only 119 shopping days until the sequel!
by Jeff Giles | August 27, 2007
Discuss Article
We're all just now starting to come down from the excitement of last week's announcement that Alien vs. Predator 2 will be undergoing a name change to Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Can you handle more AVP thrills? Are you sure?

Here's why we're asking: The red band trailer for Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem has hit the Web, and we've got it! By "red band," of course, we mean "not for anybody under the age of 17." And actually, if you want to get technical, this trailer really isn't for anyone who doesn't want to see people being flayed, eaten by acid, impaled, having their heads vaporized, or otherwise having an unpleasant time. Lots of action in here. Click on through to check it out!

Trailer looks pretty badass to me. Might make me actually see it.

If this movie actually turns out to be good, I think I'll just forget Alien vs. Predator 1 ever existed and allow myself to enjoy the franchise anew. If this one is terrible too...well, at least they tried to improve on the last one.

I would see this only if it contains no connection at all to Paul Anderson's garbage, and does not try in any way to connect itself to the storylines in Alien or Predator. As a fun, non-canon "what-if" type of movie, it might be interesting.

Since the Alien comics aren't considered canon, there's no reason this movie couldn't be enjoyed in the same way so long as it's done intelligently. However, I don't see a big indication of that in the trailer.

Evil military guy? Check.
Digital map showing projected outcome of alien infestation? Check.
Bomb being dropped on town to provide whatever plot there is with some suspense? Check.

These are all such over-done science fiction ideas that it is really going to take some good work to make this not just another low-brow, terrible horror movie that, for reasons pertaining to financial gain, contains aliens and predators.

I saw the trailer to this and to me it SUCKS even more! its set in a highschool in america with teens battling them, just like a scream movie! and its in modern day not the future!

Dont believe me? Check the trailer on IGN!

They went wrong again by putting Aliens into a Predator movie and NOT putting Predators into an Alien movie!

its so simple its painful yet they got it wrong AGAIN!

I think it looks pretty cool myself, I am a big predator fan and an even bigger alien fan, and I think this movie will redeem us from AVP1, but yeah, looks tight, the predators are actually kicking *** the way they are supposed to!

Well, looks like they just showed all the characters getting killed in one damn trailer, but it does look way more intense and more action packed then the last one. Hopefully there will be more of stories and subplots to make you love the characters and care for them. The first AVP, I was wanting everyone to die because the characterization sucked. Even the lead! If this one does suck, and they still try to make another one....they better do it in the future or just give up.

I can tell half of you don't like the alien vs predator movies. in my opinion if you don't like it then don't see it and leave it for the fanbase like me. I liked AVP 1 alot and remains one of my favorite films to date. Reason is because I am a fan. After seeing AVP2's trailer I am more then excited to see it. It looks suspensful and has the warrior aliens from james cameron film in it. Also the predalien would make the cut in this one too.

This film is going to be good and am hoping it improves over AVP 1 even though I liked the first one alot.

I can only hope that the film is somewhat like the trailer and that they just didnt splice together the best scenes to make the film look good.

A couple of things, first off movie guy... your an idiot. Some people say that AVP1 was a good movie, some people are also real douche bags. AVP1 sucked total balls, and before you say i'm not part of the fanbase, let me just say that I've been a huge fan of both franchises since i was a kid. (I saw Predator when i was 8 and loved it ever since.) This new one looks promising, the predators look like the predators I know of, and so do the Aliens. The predators even make the same sound when they go into thier vision mode, total plus.

And to all the haters of this movie, just keep this in mind:

1. Paul Anderson is not affiliated with this project
2. This movie is rated R, and from what i can tell, they use it.
3. Paul Anderson is not affiliated with this project
4. The Predators are not complete wusses in this film (At least from what I can tell)
5. The Aliens don't resemble dog like creatures.
6. Paul Anderson is not affiliated with this project
7. It can't get any worse than AVP1

So in conclusion, this movie wins by default. Of course I could be wrong, I originally thought Resident Evil 2 couldn't be worse than RE1, and I was dead wrong. But here's to hoping.

This looks friggon awesome. I didn't watch Alien vs Predator expecting more Scott/Cameron-level badassness, and I certainly ain't expecting it from this. This is going to be violent, brutal, fun mayhem to enjoy.

Well, at least it's gory. Otherwise it doesn't look that exciting, but I'll probably see it.

Did anyone notice that there is a very "Ripley"-like character in the trailer? That is a pretty dis-respectful idea, if that's what their play is.

I actually agree with ol' "trigger-fingers" bat-fink: they should have stuck this movie in an Alien-type setting, not a Predator setting. Seeing how Predators hunted on other planets would be absolutely awesome, IMO. Then they find a bunch of eggs, and gore galore. Way cool. I'm tired of the lack of passion modern filmakers seem to have. We never get to see alien (not just ALIEN) planets anymore. What gives?

But yeah, this movie is gory, so it'll be fun, don't get me wrong.

Teenagers and high school? There was nothing like that anywhere in the trailer except a blond girl getting killed. Did you watch the same thing as me?
