With its incredible abilities to fly at high altitudes, carry large amounts of weaponry, and be virtually undetectable by radar, the B-2 stealth bomber is a marvel of modern military technology. Conceived during the Reagan era, the B-2 made its debut in the early 1990s and has since been used for military campaigns in Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. But the high cost of research and development (about $2 billion per plane) has greatly limited its production, and today there are only 21 B-2 bombers in existence (out of 120 planned). Produced with the cooperation of the U.S. Air Force, this documentary provides a rare glimpse of the legendary B-2 stealth bomber, detailing not only its controversial history but the science and technology that make it such an engineering marvel.
