This sequel to the critically acclaimed original picture might not have been quite the pig at the box office that its predecessor was, but it was one of 1998's most charming, entertaining works. This family-friendly adventure takes the oinker of the title, along with Ferdy and Mrs. Hoggett, beyond the confines of the farm's fences and into the great wide world. It's up to the trio to save the farm, and they just might be able to do it. James Cromwell returns to the role of the farmer, and George Miller (HAPPY FEET) directs. [More]

Reviews for Babe: Pig in the City
Universal should have left well enough alone, heeding the immortal closing words of Farmer Hoggett in the original.
Would anyone go for a sequel to The Wizard of Oz that catapulted Dorothy and Toto into the world of Once Were Warriors or Escape From New York?
This dark sequel to the 1995 hit has virtually none of the bucolic charm displayed in the original.
We found the conflict of the film's lighthearted fun and its dark and menacing danger too incongruous for its own good!
...a completely new experience for the audience and the film's characters, and virtually, one of the best sequels that has ever come along in the past decade.
Grounding all the mayhem in emotional priority is the little pig that could.
...Paints a bleak picture of humanity. Not to mention, shall we say, animality.
