Movie InfoEight years before the dinosaur mania created by Jurassic Park, Bill L. Norton released this more dinosaur-friendly story about a 10-foot baby dinosaur in dire straits in Africa because Dr. Eric Kiviat (Patrick McGoohan), an evil paleontologist, is after it with a vengeance. He is the nemesis of Dr. Susan Matthews-Loomis (Sean Young) -- determined to save the baby from its hunters -- and her husband George Loomis (William Katt), a sportswriter who shares her protective instincts. Kiviat has recruited a revolutionary army to help him capture the baby's mother -- which they manage to do without killing her. The army has already shot down the father dinosaur, and so their own instincts are far from protective. As the husband and wife and baby dinosaur are united at last in their attempts to survive, the next step is to recapture Mom dinosaur and get away from the army and Kiviat, not an easy feat. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi … More

Critic Reviews for Baby - Secret of the Lost Legend
Baby's faintly reptilian eyes are dead. And with them dies a lot of our belief.
Director B.W.L. Norton surrounds the sweetness with a heavy, crude, and far too realistically rendered action plot that effectively cancels out whatever warmth the film manages to generate.
Though not as wonderful as it might have been, this film is a must for Disney fans. Typical of the studio's films, it tugs at your heart while making you laugh.
Even if your children like dinosaurs, don't let them be exposed to the offensive, insensitive, intolerably anti-humanist and racist propagandizing that is draped around them in this film. No plot, no heart, no soul.
Sappy family stuff about a bland little dinosaur and his very boring keepers.
Audience Reviews for Baby - Secret of the Lost Legend
Some people find dinos living in the jungle. Simple story and lack luster effects make this an ok watch.More
Remarkable technical know-how makes the creatures entirely credible in the 1980's and Baby B is quite irresistible!More
Here is a movie that made my Corny movie of the 80's list!
Super Cheesy animatronics represent a family of brontosaurus found in the deep African jungle. A married couple stumble upon them and want to keep them safe from some jackholes who want to capture them and exploit the poor animals and the St. Bernard size BABY Bronto.
Cutesy and Corney - it was the 80's what do you expect?
