This is Shirley Temple's first leading lady film and features the little sweetheart out to vindicate her ex-con dad from a bum rap, where he's being charged with a jewelry theft. The quick-witted daughter proves she's match enough for the bad guys who want to see her pa back behind bars. Teardrops may tumble when Shirley sings "On Accounta' I Love You."

Audience Reviews for Baby Take a Bow

A really cute movie, this is one when Shirley's still very young.

Cute Shirley Temple vehicle, as expected it is quite overly sentimental but it works in this movie. Good supporting cast and a couple of sweet musical numbers are plusses.

Shirley is adorable as ever. I love the part in the kitchen when the bad guy is tied up and he wants her to cut the ropes. He says, "Hey watch it! You're cuttin' my head off!" She responds with, "That's alright!"
