Baby Face Morgan (1942)
A fairly amusing, extremely low-budget film-noir style comedy directed by Arthur Dreifuss, Baby Face Morgan is the story of a boy (Richard Cromwell) who is the son of a former mob leader. "Baby Face" Morgan unwittingly gets involved with his father's now-retired cohorts, leading him into trouble with the mob and the law. Morgan, now on the run, discovers that he was only intended to be used as a figurehead to cover-up a crooked insurance-fraud scheme. Realizing that he has been duped, he finally manages to clear himself and learn a valuable lesson in the process. The film has only minor interest and extremely low production values; however, the direction by German-born Arthur Dreifuss, the director of a series of low-budget "B" comedies, succeeds in creating some nice comedic touches and suspense. … More
