Back to the Future Part II Reviews
September 16, 2007
Seems a little bit less great now that the "future" in the movie has passed, and its nothing like what we are living.

Back to the future, back from the future, parallel universes, extorted timelines.... almost everything you could ask for from a time travel movie!!

The middle part of this story doesn't have the same remembered classic story of its predecessor, but the futuristic feel made this movie extremely interesting and fun.

Best movie of all time. With the original. The third one sucked

The story is even bigger than the first one and Thomas F. Wilson makes Biff even more menacing than before.

This is the second episode of the 3-part documentary series on the history, personalities and technology of Hill Valley, California.
Episode 2 largely addresses the political and economic consequences of unchecked industrial development by BiffCo. This part has a lot of trenchant social commentary on the ills of gambling and domestic violence. Overall, a really insightful look at where Hill Valley has been and where it's going in 2015.

The time-travel adventure continues in the second chapter as Marty, together with his trusty Doc Brown travel into the future to prevent a catastrophic occurence. The result is a fun, time-bending, dimension-warping story that establishes the summer blockbuster formula. Fast-paced and ahead of its time, the film managed to set its standard with a few near accurate predictions of the future, except the hoverboard and flying cars. Apart from that, the journey oscillating back and forth between the past and the future is a entertaining joy to watch as our two protagonists race against time righting the wrongs, only to create more impending problems that will threaten the course of their entire existence. With all the brain-popping theories regarding the alternate timeline and continuum, Zemeckis' sophomore effort shines and is set to stand the test of time.

Part 2 is not as fun as the first, but manages to give you a fun look at our "future". Half of the film builds on the original and makes it better, the other half makes of a been there done that feel. The first act is enjoyable, but doesn't really have many standout moments (except those awesome hover boards). Then as the story progresses, it shows us a dystopian future Marty accidently created and must now fix, making for a clever and exciting second half. Some of it feels a bit like a commercial for Part 1, which provides some great strengths and large weaknesses. Unfortunately, this film was not as great or innovative as the original, but still made for a fun ride. Back to the Future Part ll gets 3/5 stars (B-).

This is one of the best sequels ever made. From the future to the past and everywhere in between. It will also be nice to see how thing work out when October 2015 gets here. Bring on the Hover Boards!

This is a massive disappointment after such a great first film. I remember enjoying this first time around as a 10 year old but I imagine that was just for the special effects and hoverboards both which have aged terribly.

Providing more peril fuelled adventure and great special effects, Back to the Future Part II is funny, exciting and a well acted piece of Sci-Fi excellence.

The sequel to my favorite film is just as funny as the first film and brings a new sense of darkness.

Not as good as the first but still really enjoyable.

"MARTY MCFLY AND THE DELOREAN PART 2"
- 'Back to the Future part 2' is a 1989 sci-fi adventure film directed by Robert Zemeckis (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Beowulf) and produced by Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park, ET). The story continues where the first movie ended. I do like the plot, as Marty and Doc travel to the Future, a changed present and back 1955, where you get to see scenes from the first movie from a totally different angle. The film was made back-to-back with the third and final chapter 'Back to the Future part 3'. Starring Michael J. Fox (Family Ties, Class of 1984), Christopher Lloyd (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Piranha 3D), Thomas F. Wilson (April Fool's Day, Camp Nowhere), Lea Thompson (Jaws 3D, The Little Rascals), Crispin Glover (Beowulf, What's Eating Gilbert Grape) and Billy Zane (Titanic, the Phantom). Ready to go back?
In 1985, Doc Brown (Lloyd) persuades Marty McFly (Fox) and his girlfriend Jennifer Parker to join him on a trip to 2015, where they must help their future children. But while they are there, the old Biff Tannen (Wilson) uses the Delorean to travel back to 1955 to deliver a Sports Almanac, containing all the results of major sports events between 1950 and 2000. When our friends return to 1985, Marty is shocked to see that the world he knew has changed. His mother Lorainne (Thompson) has married the rich and successful Biff after Marty's father George (Glover) passed away, while Doc has been committed to an insane asylum. To undue these events, Marty and Doc will need to travel back to 1955, where they have to be careful not to interfere with Marty's previous trip...

Ah, yes, 2015: We all drive flying cars, but HD is unfathomable.

A bit of a commercial cluster-bomb, it reminds us of the saying that "sequels are never as good as the original".

The futuristic gadgets are cool, the story is fast paced and more daring than the last. The second instalments successfully re energises the time travelling experience with more laughs and suspenseful action scenes.

Second part of the greatest movie of all time. I don't know what it is, but the fun of time travel with great characters, great plot, great story, great acting, phenomenal execution of it all, just makes this franchise work so well. I love it. This sequel takes the idea of time travel to a different angle. They went back in time into the first movie. I am still think that is such an awesome concept.

A sequel not as good as the first, but still pretty darn great. It's the darkest in the trilogy (as a part 2 should be) but still contains humour and adventure.
