Bad Milo is a horror comedy centered on a guy who learns that his unusual stomach problems being caused by a demon living in his behind. So if the premise doesn't draw you in neither will the comedy or horror. It's a one trick point once it uses its most hilarious joke the film falls apart slowly. It's heavy emphasis on toilet humor is what ultimately destroys it. Most jokes revolve around toilets, anus, or anything with the lower of your body all of which become plot points. Sloppily transitioning from one scene to another with a bad joke. These bad jokes also sadly serve as character development. Not a completely bad idea given the monster is meant to metaphor PMS (poor stress management) of our protagonist. However its quick pace and desire to go on to the next kill never allows time for the metaphor creature come to full effect. The horror side of is neither effective. Whenever the monsters kills a victim some sort of comedic antic has to occur before a killing, during a killing, and after the monster is done killing. Working against the ending and attempting to make us care for the demonic creature. Plus, it's difficult to like a monster who lives in another man behind and one that bit off another man anus.
Jacob Vaughn direction is okay. He knows where to position the camera so the practical creature effect never appears to fake even when the creature is moving. Kudos for the filmmakers sticking to practical effects instead of resorting to CG despite their low budget. Vaughn handling of actors is mostly to blame for their mediocre performances. Granted the script is a one trick pony, but Vaughn doesn't give anything for the actors to fall back on. He lets lead Ken Marino whose a combination of Nathan Fillion and Ray Romano improve his own scenes. Which is why he always plays up his comedic strength over exaggerated facial expressions like a cartoon. Falling short in delivering anything remotely convincing during a serious moment. The other actors face a similar problem when hitting a dead end with the material they have no choice but to keep going with the humorless setup.
Bad Milo! like the title suggest is bad. Granted the practical effect for the demonic Milo is worth given praise too, but nothing else can be seen in the same positive light. Sure the premise was goofy to begin with, but even goofy ideas can make a decent movie. If you ever see Bad Milo! around be sure to shove it back where it came from.
No matter how goofy of a premise a film might have I always go into them with an open mind. Sometime being rewarded, sometime ending up being miserable, and in the case of this not fully realize. After it ends you can't help but wonder the filmmaker severely missed their mark.

Embarrassingly funny fun commentary on stress that brought me back to the fun films of the 80's.

sick and nasty, yet heart-warming and charming...Bad Milo has a great concept, casts, and gores all which it could have been done much better with more effort [C+]

I thought it was hilarious and strange- its like Alf and ET had a baby and it went to go live in some guys ass and make trouble. Sounds weird but trust me, its great.

The cast is exceptional and there are more laugh out moments than any movie I've seen of recent. Yes, it's low-brow, but, yes, it's hilarious.

Now here's a fun little title, it's Basket Case meets E.T. in this goofy horror comedy from Jacob Vaughn. Most of the violence occurs off screen, but there is one instance involving a severed penis that is quite memorable. Peter Stormare, who is cast hilariously against type, plays a shrink specializing in hypnosis. The creature that came from Duncan's ass, as it were, is equal parts adorable and vicious.

A strange yet intriguing film, about a man trying to deal with a physical manifestation of his conscious wreaking havoc on his friends and family. The film had an indie feel to it, and actually delivered a pleasurable experience.
