WIll you shut the hell up about a black president and Will Smith as Robert Neville? For a guy with a masters in education you sure are pretty dense. Quit using the same arguement all the time. Just because someone voted for McCain doesn't mean they're racist. Maybe you're sexist because you didn't want a vice president to be a woman? Also, another "diss" you do to people is call them ugly. I have news for you, you (and your family) are extremely ugly. Your wife looks more masculine than you. Also you were yelling about people being on topic yet you are extremely off topic all the time. Do me and everyone else a favor, unplug your cable/dsl modem and run it over five times. Friggin hypocrite reverse racist over here...
Aug 9 - 09:12 PM
Movies and art are pretty liberal and democratic forms of expression: people can express what they wish. Yet, listening to my oppostion feels like I'm listening to a bunch of McCain/Palin voters
It feels like when John McCain was making a bunch of silly faces when President Obama was earnestly trying to speak during the debates. John McCain was mocking President Obama.
Republicans are mean people in general; I have not seen any non-white Republican leaders yet; Colin Powell left public life disillusioned with politics altogether
Delyth A. has a picture of a hero with a Devil on her back; figures . . . goldless people; not my kind---But again: you sound like Republicans.
Dude, fight The Devil with prayer man; not with some twisted grin of agony if that's what you're striving to do.
Aug 9 - 09:21 PM
Again, for being a BLACK man with a masters in education you are pretty dumb. Didn't you know that Martin Luther King was a republican? Just to educate you here's a list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_African_American_Republicans
By the way, I'm proud of you, I don't have to look at your ugly face anymore.
Aug 9 - 09:46 PM
oh no! herhizzle's "one of THEM" eeeeeyyyyyyyaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!
(like FOX-NEWS kind of fare)
To someone like hershizzle, no non-white individual could be considered anything more than dumb.
Why would anyone call anyone else "dumb"?
(that's wicked in nature---there really are wicked people existing today . . .I just never think too much about it)
There are no non-white republican leaders ALIVE TODAY (maybe I should have said)--it was a very slight misstep Hershizzle found in order to "drive a mack truck " through my resolve
(you will sink to any depths to demean me; too bad for you, lady--you are living a tortured life steeped in hatred and some form of resentment too.)
Resentful people tend to attack and lash-out at other people.
you guys are weirder than me, even . . . and look for ANY misstep I may make simply to exploit the misstep.
Barbarella appeals mostly to conservative white women. Jane Fonda was part of the Women's Liberation Movement. Barbarella depticted women as sex-objects instead of thinking-people; this appealed to conservative types.
I'm bailing from anymore chat about Barbarella . . . I viewed Barbarella as a means to ADVANCE views of women in cinema yet Barbarella is not designed to ADVANCE anything at all except only to re-inforce stereotyplcal views of woman. hip-hip-hooray Gordon is abdicatating his "imaginitave support" for Barbarella. thank God
That is a terrible resentful thing to say to me hershizle--you have seriously a bad sense character
ABRAHM LINCOLN who founded the Republican party ALSO freed the slaves!!!!
Yet ALIVE today, there are no non-white Republican leaders.
and of course Dr. Martin Luther King was Republican . . . all the BIGOTED Southern whites were "Dixi-crats." Strom Thormond was Democrat and filibustered for twenty-four hours to keep blacks seperated from whites.
And here you are herhizzle trying to further mock me by using an incendiary tone.
I knew it, though! There was something "hateful" concerning the responses being directed at me.
Aug 9 - 11:06 PM
lolOMG can we just talk about Barbarella! Screw that crazy a$$....he's crazy! You cant try to make sense to them they are in a different world.
Aug 10 - 01:51 AM
(Now he's PM-ing me asking if I voted for McCain or Obama...)I'm Welsh. I voted neither. If I'm blatantly conservative, then you're blatantly American and are doing your country no favours to the outside world in strengthening a stereotype (apologies to any sane Americans here :) ).Before you came along, this thread was happily discussing the Barbarella movie, and nothing but. Now you've somehow dragged in the bible and politics, when the movie and the discussion thereof concerns neither (and rightly so).As for my 'categorisations' of you, I think you'll find that I'm simply referencing your ideas as you have presented them yourself. You seem to be stuck in a loop of 'dragons and big-breasted black-ladies', 'inappropriate scripture-quoting' and now even 'nonsensical politics'. I've been following you on other threads - that's all you do is talk about how awesome (insert big-breasted black lady here) would be in (insert movie remake here). And yes, the scripture-quoting is inappropriate. By all means, quote scripture to make a point - but in this instance the point is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand. We're talking about a movie, not the bible. Actually we're talking about how freaking insane you are, which is very possibly directly correlated to your relationship with the bible, but that's another story for another day and certainly has nothing to do with this topic thread."one of my cousins is an executive at a studio in Hollywood.Another cousin is an copyright attorney in Hollywood. My Aunt wrote an operaMy cousin was a director of an entire theater in Baltimore.I have a Masters Degree in EducationWhy am I less qulified to give opinions than you?"Aside from the fact that nobody here brought up qualifications until this little quip from you - respect is earned, not bought. The sooner you start making coherent and sensible discussion, the sooner people will pay you some respect. If you respond to every word against you or every culling of your ideas by calling that person evil/ugly/bad fruit, you're gonna get laughed at and people will assume (apparently rightly so, for you're not doing anything to dissuade us) that you're bat-****-crazy.Mmm... I was going to stop there but there's one last thing I'd like to draw to your attention. While you're so busy calling people up on being republican, obsessing that since everybody here is against you we must all be republicans and therefore 'bad fruit', telling us the error of our ways in 'behaving so very republican' with our apparent categorising, informing us that 'there are no categories and no absolutes' - according to you, there's good and bad. There's republican and there's conservative. There exists nothing beyond those realms, and you're lumping us all under your one label. How much of a hypocrite ARE you, exactly?
Aug 10 - 02:01 AM
Gordon! Your train of thought seems to stop at every station picking up passengers. I have a hard time figuring out what your point is most of the time. And keep the politics out of this - I too am not American and therefore voted for neither candidate.
Aug 10 - 03:05 AM
We have TOTALLY different ideological and political views concerning Barbarella and the politics of humankind altogether. Rene Zelliwiger (or whatever the spelling is) is Barbaraella . . . to make me further not want to see it and to make it closer to the Dino De Laurentii's version.
Aug 10 - 07:50 AM
I don't believe you have any knowledge of my political stances - certainly nothing I've said has even hinted towards my view on politics (or humankind...) - do you make things up about people in your head as well as movies?
Aug 10 - 08:03 AM
To me and to the Women's Liberation Barbraella (Roger Vadim/ Dino De Laurentiis'1968) did to women what Amos n' Andy and Steppin' Fetchit did to black people. . .
You guys have been an insulting, non-progressive bunch.
I've been called Dumb, ugly, retarded, and stupid by other human beings (other Americans).
Conservatives (are "about" Absolutes: very finite, very black and white--no gray areas) , "we can't do . . ." or "this is incorrect or this is wrong
Liberals say "we CAN do; now, how can we do it. How can we correct it

"Conservatives (are "about" Absolutes: very finite, very black and white--no gray areas) , "we can't do . . ." or "this is incorrect or this is wrongLiberals say "we CAN do; now, how can we do it. How can we correct it "You're proving my point again - blaming us for labeling you and then defining two very rigid groups yourself.Have you ever considered life beyond the Conservative / Liberal split? Do you believe that someone can be defined beyond the boundaries of the political roles you would like to stick on them?In every one of my comments to you I've asked you questions, asked you to look again at things you're saying, and tried to draw your attention to certain points. You have not once replied to any of these things but instead, with every new comment you post, your mind goes off on a severe tangent. No, this doesn't mean you have a 'mind like Einstein', as you PM'd me. Why is this? Do you not bother reading what people reply to you, preferring instead to listen to your own words and to try to impress your nonsensical opinions on us, then calling us all conservatives if we don't agree with you? Is it because while you're trying to make yourself appear intelligent and far superior to the rest of us, you don't actually understand our responses and so can't come up with an answer - all you can do is keep spilling out your regular spiel? What a narrow little world you live in, Gordon Franklin Terry Sr.(Once again, because apparently you missed it the first few times I told you - I'm not American. I don't fall into the typical 'conservative' or 'liberal' categories you're talking about. You see, outside your little self-indulgent world, the rest of us are probably more progressive than you could ever comprehend without resorting to calling us all devils.)

Thank God for free speech
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Hey there's an idea: FREE SPEECH Some movie about free speech with some Rotten Tomatoes "knocking people around" on the internet. ha ha ha ha.
(GI JOE was AWESOME!!!!!!!!) . . . and it seemed a little anti-conservative in a way . . . I guess we have to tell FOX NEWS, about projecting negative images concerning Republican-conservatisim.
Barbarella should have a country music soundtrack or something.
Aug 10 - 12:44 PM
Freedom of speech comes right along with the freedom not to listen. :)
Aug 10 - 12:57 PM
Why Isn't This Private
Free speech is for public places. This is a privately owned venue, and as such, speech may be limited by the owners. (Although, given the long tenures of posters like the Captain, the limits don't seem very strict. :)But the real issue here is *incoherent speech*. If you want to make a point (and/or contribute to the actual topic of a discussion), it really helps for one to write in a manner which is comprehensible to the audience. Rather than long-winded, rambling, stream-of-consciousness series of non sequiters.

FOX NEWS' weighs-in on Barbarella
(Hollywood aiding America's downward spiral)
DOLLY PARTON is nominated to appear as Barbarella. with a good, clean, rich country twang.
Hollywood keeps putting rap songs in their movies because Hollywood has fallen away from sound ideals; Hollywood joined the course of America's downward spiral. Hollywood is part of that "blue state nonsense." The new GI JOE had rap music: we have to take our children to the movies and subject them to images and ideas that will cause them to forsake our forefathers' moral ideals; and its not fair.
we also need a sub-plot showing immigration is bad; the more immigration we have the further America will continue on its downward-spiral
I don't see why Hollywood in that "blue State" of California always has rap music in their films; rap music is too urban and far too "tarnished" and only escalates America's downward spiral.
FOX News is very concerned about Hollywood's influence upon our children's values--by casting Dolly Parton as Barbarella, Hollywood will at least establish to us that it is doing its part to slow-down the erosion of this country due to liberals.
(just kidding, GFT)

a Hollywood director literally asks Republicans to stay home from GI Joe(8/03/09)
(what are conservatives to do if even Hollywood directors ask them to stay home?)

G.I. Joe Director: This is Not a George Bush Movie
Federal Review ^ | 08/03/09
Posted on Monday, August 03, 2009 10:20:57 AM by Behind Liberal Lines
LOS ANGELES--The director of the new movie "G.I. Joe: the Rise of Cobra" thinks President Obama is "a Real American hero," but apparently wants Republicans to stay home.....
When it comes to selling "G.I. Joe" outside the U.S., the message is "this is not a George Bush movie -- it's an Obama world," director Stephen Sommers said. "Right from the writing stage we said to ourselves, this can't be about beefy guys on steroids who all met each other in the Vietnam War, but an elite organization that's made up of the best of the best from around the world."
Sommers, the director of such genre films as "the Mummy Returns" and "Van Helsing," is hoping that the film will appeal to international markets, where action films "often earn 60% or more of their ticket sales [but] rah-rah American sentiment doesn't play well,"....
As a result, overseas advertising is playing up scenes from other countries and downplaying anything that could be seen as American patriotism.

If Paramont Studios' is supporting a director telling "Republicans to stay home."
Universal MUST turn Barbarella into a DOLLY PARTON filmn (Dolly Parton/country music film) because its unfair for Republicans not to have a wholesome film to go to. no rap, nothing remotely urban . . . only DOLLY. If not DOLLY PARTON as Barbarella, Barbarella cannot be released because its unfair for republicans.
Besides it was Paramont Studios who released the Barbarella in 1968 with a "liberal" as Barbrella so its only fitting (and fair to republicans) to cast a "conservative" as Barbarella now in 2009--because Hollywood "in the blue state" is not being fair to republicans.
"Hollywood saying Republicans stay home." lol
(funny stuff . . . GFT)
Why are Republicans commenting about Hollywood anyway?
Aug 10 - 08:00 PM
. . . and you know: this film was never even made (its been two years so far).
