Could it be the crappy movies that are usually the ones in 3-D? Life of Pi and Pina, for example, did not wanna make me puke, but usually I hate 3-D.

After reading the details of the study, it's obviously bogus. 54.8%? So half the people watching the movie are going to puke? I've been to quite a few full houses of movies in 3D and never saw any sort of mass exodus, even with bad movies. I've heard plenty of people say it hurts their eyes or something like that, but i've never heard of anyone about to puke.
