The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation has issued its annual press release announcing the latest batch of Razzie nominees. In an ever-more-crowded field of bad scripts, bad acting, and all-around bad films, the Foundation has somehow managed to narrow its nominations down to a select few.

The nominees...

"Lady In The Water"
"Little Man"
"Wicker Man"

Martin Short -- "Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause"
David Thewlis -- "Basic Instinct 2" and "The Omen"

Worst Supporting Actress:
Kate Bosworth -- "Superman Returns"
Kristin Chenoweth -- "Deck The Halls," "Pink Panther" and "RV"
Carmen Electra -- "Date Movie" and "Scary Movie 4"

Michelle Rodriguez -- "Bloodrayne"

Worst Screen Couple:
Tim Allen & Martin Short -- "Santa Clause 3"
Nicolas Cage & His Bear Suit -- "Wicker Man"
Hilary & Haylie Duff -- "Material Girls"
Sharon Stone's Lop-Sided Breasts -- "Basic Instinct 2"
Shawn Wayans & EITHER Kerry Washington OR Marlon Wayans -- "Little Man"

Worst Remake or Rip-Off:
"Little Man"
"Pink Panther"
"Poseidon"
"The Shaggy Dog Story"
"Wicker Man"

Worst Prequel or Sequel:
"Basic Instinct 2"
"Big Momma's House 2"
"Garfield 2: A Tail Of Two Kitties"
"Santa Clause 3"
"Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning"

Worst Director:
Uwe Boll -- "Bloodrayne"
Michael Caton-Jones -- "Basic Instinct 2"
Ron Howard -- "The Da Vinci Code"
M. Night Shyamalan -- "Lady In The Water"
Keenen Ivory Wayans -- "Little Man"

Worst Screenplay:
"Basic Instinct 2"
"Bloodrayne"
"Lady In The Water"
"Little Man"
"Wicker Man"

Worst Excuse for Family Entertainment:
"Deck The Halls"
"Garfield 2: A Tail Of Two Kitties"
"RV"
"Santa Clause 3"
"The Shaggy Dog"

So enough with all the Oscar talk already -- what's more important is who's taking home the most Razzies this year (and who'll actually show up to collect). Anybody want to start laying odds on the appearance of an enraged Uwe Boll, threatening to fight everyone in the parking lot?

lady in the water could have been so cool. Holy crap that movie suuuuuuuuuuuuucked. The only thing that saved it is that Paul Giamati is genius. Damn that was awful.

And bloodrayne. I think i've recomended that to more people than any other movie. Usually it goes something like this "dude... dude, you have to see this movie. Bloodrayne, Yeah, has the worst, more akward sex scene EVER! Trust me, it's that good."

I don't agree about Lady in the water, That movie was beautiful. Is obviously that they chose it because shyamalan killed the annoying film critic =P

no, they chose it because it was too goofy, took itself WAY too seriously for it's goofiness, the writing sucked, the story sucked, it just all around sucked

the only movie on the worst movie list i've seen was bloodrayne, i only saw it because everyone was saying how bad it was so i had to see. what an idiot i was, this had to be the worst movie ive ever seen, worse than battleship earth or whatever that crappy l ron hubbard movie with travolta in it was, worse than ishtar, much worse than the only other uwe boll movie ive seen (house of the dead, which was a stinker of course, i mean, wtf is clint howard doing)... i felt so bad for ben kingsley, why in god's name did he star in this crap, the movie played gandhi and was very good in house of sand and fog (supposedly great in sexy beast, didnt see it). now kristana loken and michael madsen were perfect for this crapfest, neither one can act at all..anyways hope uwe gets the razzie, if not, maybe a paraplegic moviecritic will kick his behind

Yeah, I always defended M. Knight when anyone would bash him, but after "Lady"... The bashers can eat him alive for all I care.

Hopefully, Tim Allen will win for Santa Clause, and Uwe Boll, along with his Bloodrayne wins for everything else. I think Uwe Boll should cast Tim Allen in Far Cry; it would become the only movie that I couldn't sit through.

LADY IN THE WATER might not be a great movie but to call it one of the worst movies of the year is ridiculous. It's only among the others for comedic shock value. That's the Razzies for you.

I agree it wasn't very well written but the story was very good and as well the actings and directions. Is not perfect but is not "worst".

I like how the worst screenplay nominees are the EXACT same as the worst picture nominees. The razzies really should spread the hating around.. and how about Andy Dick in Employee of the Month? That was probably the worst movie I saw this year because it was one of the few I did not watch on my own volition. Oh, Uhh..that dancing one was pretty bad too..with Brenda from Six Feet Under? Step Up! that's it.

I have to disagree with a couple of these. Mainly anything related to The Santa Clause 3 because, let's face it, it wasn't any worse than the first two, and, I don't think they were in the Razzies, and, TCM:The Beginning, because, I really enjoyed it.

THe Lady in the Water wasn't THAT bad people.

But I feel I really agree with most of these. Am I the only one who finds it great that we have a sequels and remake category now?
