For all the hype about exploring Batman's damaged psyche, Nolan and Goyer haven't added much beyond a corny opening in which he falls down a well and is attacked by bats.
What kind of an argument is that coreyt? That opening sequence IS corny; the whole movie strives for realism and comes off campy. In my opinion it's not bad (and better than Jones), but it ain't great.
Bro, if I fell down a well and was attacked by bats, I'd be scared as hell. Perhaps it's implausible -- I'll cede you that -- but I wouldn't call it "corny." You're entitled to your opinion, though; I can respect that.
The opening sequence is corny.... Oh you mean the original beginning to batman in comics they put in for batman fans. The reason why he goes down the road to becoming batman...
Where were you the entire movie? o.O The first half of the movie, until Scarecrow becomes known, is all about the Bruce Wayne/Batman dichotomy. I'm not sure you watched it... You just watched the extended trailer, didn't you? -_- Critics these days...
Batman is a character you can't apply a whole lot of logic to. If you to make the Batman story realistic you're going to have to drop Batman from it altogether. There are better ways for a billionaire to spend his money fighting crime than by donning a Halloween costume and beating up criminals one at a time.
All Nolan's Batman films I thought this was the best partially because of Batman's costume with it's thick neck unlike the skinny whimpish neck seen on the costumes in Nolans other Batman films. The problem with Schumacher's Batman was that the suit had nipples and the story was too campy.
I think turning down the camp in Batman was a good choice by Nolan but he turned it down too far in both of his Batman sequels for my tastes.
Batman should always be at least a little campy. The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises are too serious, too gritty, and too depressing for me.
Not to mention kind of boring. The only people talking about "REAL comic book fans" enjoying those movies never picked up a Batman comic until they saw The Dark Knight. Guess what! REAL Batman fans actually like Robin. Of course, you've probably never heard of Nightwing until the Arkham City game, if you bothered playing it.
Well since I can't comment on the Dark Knight Rises that I want to say the critics that gave bad reviews to any of these New Batman movies can go to hell! Suck an egg
So just because of a tiny 5 minute part in the movie that was kind of annoying to you, you give the whole entire movie a rotten review. Not 'top critic' material if you ask me.
i really sorry for you jr jones.... u have damaged your reputation considerably by this review... no one can ever take u seriously again...youre a jester..a court fool

Corny???? You and your review are corny. Notice most of the good critics gave this movie a good review.
