History is long, life is short. It's certainly too short for the sort of overblown, melodramatic, pseudo-epic filmmaking Quebec's Jean Beaudin tried to foist on Francophone audiences two years ago.

:D Blockbuster My Review: The critics panned this, but I'm a romantic, so I found this story to be a lovely, engaging one. I was swept away by the characters, the intrigue, the politics, and the relationships of this period piece. I loved the music and the ending was a total surprise. My husband (not a romantic)
