'Be Kind Rewind' is a whimsical adventure with genuine affection for its characters, but Gondry's story is essentially weightless, a fanciful flight in search of a raison d'etre.
what? that's ridiculous. This is a film remarking on how capitalism destroys originality. West Coast Video represents the chains that have destroyed independently, especially black, owned business in small neighborhoods. I've seen the same happening in my neighborhood and I will never set foot in a Walmart if I can help it. I feel that Michel Gondry has captured the inspiration that can be found in historic neighborhoods and the fantasy incited by it. This film is to help us realize that we are killing individuality and imagination with corporations that want to do nothing but make more and more money. If you think this movie has no weight you mos def are wrong. I'm sorry that you can't get over yourself and get your head out of your SUV's or Prius' *** to recognize what's happening to our country.

This just goes to show you that reviewers that try to use big words fail.
