Bear45 writes: on Feb 15 2008 12:09 PM In reply to this comment (#1576629) Are you serious?!?!? I can't believe what I'm reading. You're doubting Jack, but praising SNL, MadTV, and the Night At The Roxbury guys?!!! LOL Talk about not funny anymore... SNL?! SNL is still funny?! I almost think you're joking. I'm hanging on to the hope that you're joking. Dude... (Reply to this) |

silkyj writes: on Feb 15 2008 12:15 PM Jack Black is just not funny. The only time you laugh at him is when you realize that hes that much of a moron in real life as he is in his movies. (Reply to this) |

Circe Prankster writes: on Feb 15 2008 12:20 PM Yeah, maybe it'll suck, but be careful if you decide to wait for it to be released on video. Seeing it on DVD might be okay, but if you go to a video store - well, instead of the real movie you might end up watching two store clerks wrapped head-to-toe in aluminum foil . . oh, wait . . . onepiece226 writes: on Feb 15 2008 12:50 PM I'm open to all comedy movies, even if they look bad. Look at Grandma's Boy, people said that looked stupid, and it turned out to be one of the funniest movies!!!! BE KIND REWIND!!!!!!!!!!!! (Reply to this) |

Joe Utichi writes: on Feb 15 2008 01:10 PM Having seen the flick, I'd say none of you have it spot on. It's not hysterical, but it's not sickly heartfelt either. It falls somewhere between the two. It's rather beautifully naive, or its characters are, and the swede moments are very funny, but it never really comes together. It's worth seeing, but I wouldn't go crazy. Definitely a 60-70% flick. alsanali writes: on Feb 15 2008 01:40 PM This honestly looks very disappointing. After giving us The Science of Sleep and the absolutely incredible Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Gondry is trying to give us a theatrical YouTube clip? Still I'll give it a chance because it is Michael Gondry after all. (Reply to this) |

SPfan79 writes: on Feb 15 2008 02:04 PM "Jack Black stopped being funny after Saving Silverman" If you get the chance, go to a Tenacious D concert. The improv he and Kyle do in between songs is hilarious and just as funny as songs like "Tribute" and "FHG" (Reply to this) |

Contempt writes: on Feb 15 2008 04:46 PM I dunno...science of sleep put me to sleep...and i realy tried to give it a chance -4 actually, and every time same result. this one though... meh. i wasn't that excited by the initial previews either...all it is a different take on the remake craze or at least that how it seems to me... and all that boils down to is capitalizing on nostalgia. twelve dollars for a glorified home movie? no thanks. dillingerescapeartist writes: on Feb 15 2008 07:14 PM This scene is 70% of why I wanted to see the movie. The other 30% was my love for Mos Def. I just hate Jack Black. He reminds of that kid in school that tried way too hard to be funny. I haven't seen a movie with Jack that I liked, but I must admit to not seeing King Kong yet. I'll do my best to forget he's in it, but I just can't stand him. (Reply to this) |

CoUcH ToMaToE DoUgIe writes: on Feb 15 2008 09:25 PM well from my keen perspective, it looks like a descent watch that deserves at least a second looking. hey, i am not a huge jack black fan but i definitely don't hate him like some of you have been piling on;) Also, gotta love the hating on the New York diaster known as SNL, which has Looooooong been a laughing stock... not in a good way:( But please, lay off Madtv, i know this season hasn't been terrific but for a long time its been keeping the pulse of late night saturday humor alive. so in summary, Jack Black's new film looks worthwhile... SNL has become a pathetic joke with and without tina fey... and Madtv is a maddening up and down comedy show... and yes Chris "Mango" Kattan sucks and should never be allowed on screen again:( (Reply to this) |

Product_of_You writes: on Feb 15 2008 10:35 PM Out of what everyone has been saying: I love Jack Black, Michel Gondry, Chris Kattan, Will Ferrell, David Spade, Chris Farley, etc... almost everyone that someone has mentioned they hate, I REALLY like. Loved the snl and madtv casts of the 90s. But within the last 6 or 7 years they have both been so bad that I feel embarassed for the everyone involved. (Reply to this) |

sr78 writes: on Feb 15 2008 11:32 PM In reply to this comment (#1576588) I know that's the point of the movie, but the idea is to put at least the hint of a smile on your face, and it doesn't succeed in that regards. Contrary to many youtube clips. (Reply to this) |

rooster9 writes: on Feb 16 2008 11:50 AM What's up with the haters? Michael Gondry's films are always sly, pop metaphors, and this clip looks damn funny. (Reply to this) |
