[Zeitlin's] as enraptured by his own imagery as by the poetry of the settings but never finds a distinctive form for his ambitious vision.
I wanted to comment on this poor review - having just witnessed what I consider to be probably the BEST film I have ever seen.
Funny, when you try and read the full review online in the New Yorker (link) the review is instead by David Denby and much more favorable.
Take my advice - IGNORE Richard Brody... until five minutes ago I had never heard of him.
I look forward to hearing nothing more from him in the future.
Go and see this film.
Just go and see it.

This is just downright mendacious & untrue. David Denby's review of Beasts of the Southern Wild is in the July 26 issue of The New Yorker, and it's over the top in praise of this extraordinary film. Give your heads a shake!

David Denby praised this exciting, beautiful film in the New Yorker, and somehow, in spite of this, rottentomatoes listed the New Yorker as panning it. You did the movie a disservice, and you do your own credibility a disservice as well. Readers, go see this movie. You may not see a better movie all year.
