Claude, a young music teacher fed up with his drab and boring life, finds refuge in a series of dreams. Each detailed fantasy takes place in a different time and country, and in each one he meets a new and beautiful woman. In these reveries, Claude finds the excitement and adventure he's longed for: at the turn of the 20th century he is a noted composer who courts the beautiful Edmée; in 1840 he is a polished army officer stationed in Algeria who visits a harem and encounters the voluptuous Leila; and during the French Revolution he meets the glamorous Suzanne. But as each dream turns into a nightmare, Claude is forced to awaken -- and finally find his true love in the real world. [More]
