Rachel Ward's acclaimed debut feature shaping up to be one of Australia's best
Variety have already hailed it as "a visually beautiful and emotionally rewarding" experience, and from early preview screenings -- including Rotten Tomatoes' own Sydney and Melbourne sessions this week -- all indications are that Rachel Ward's debut feature Beautiful Kate is set to be one of the most acclaimed Australian films in some time.
Here's a first look at the film's trailer, which showcases Ward's haunting eye for the remote outback locations and the vivid performances of her cast -- lead by Ben Mendelsohn, Bryan Brown, Rachel Griffiths and newcomer Sophie Lowe (you'll be seeing a lot more of this talented young actress, we're guessing).
There'll be sneak preview screenings of Beautiful Kate on the weekend of July 31, and the film opens nationally on August 6.
