In an age of fast-rising Hollywood production costs, the young actresses who strive to keep movie budgets down -- specifically in the wardrobe department -- deserve to be saluted.

To that end, noted film critic Mr. Skin has unveiled his Top 20 Nude Scenes of 2007. Calling the last twelve months "A surprisingly strong year for big-screen nudity...among this decade's very breast," the renowned nakedologist has compiled the following list:

I've seen most of these and I don't remember any sort of memorable nudity (Alpha Dog, Knocked Up, Halloween, Bug, 300, Hostel Part II). I guess if you feel like you must see a female breast then watch those movies asap. Memorable nudity should be limited to the whole shebang in my mind.

thats quite a sad list...

i saw before the devil knows you're dead last week... the performances were pretty good (especially ethan hawke playing a snivelling little weasel) but the movie overall was pretty terrible i thought... marisa tomei is getting hotter and hotter every day, how does this happen?

malin akerman's were wierd-lookin. (heartbreak kid, worst film of the year) but i have to watch hotel cheval at apple. portman's are small but i've always been curious about her nipple topography and coloration.

Let's review: decent actress, NOT attractive. Reasonable Body, NOT hot. Gory, bloody scene, NOT sexy.

Someone wanna explain what I missed here as to how she got onto the top 20? I'm thinking Lavatory Love Machine is right-- this is simply all the non-porn nude scenes of 2007.

yeah i saw this list days ago and thought "what the h3ll?" portman didn't even show anything and most on this list aren't even that good. what happened to Showgirls...and scenes like Basic Instinct?? THOSE are memorable. these mostly suck and its qouta nude scenes just to get their paycheck(see, i was nude, i can do nude scenes yaaay!). Sanchez in Yellow was probably the funniest though. its entertaining to watch a flick and tell what a chic is thinking "ok, i don't wanna show my t3tties because they're sagging...and i don't feel confident about them. uh...BODY PAINT, i'll show them FULL in all their glory if you paint them..and cover them up." jesus...

I haven't seen most of these movies yet but I have to say for not showing much the sex scene in in 300 was hot and the little nudity from the Oracle was good too. Also Christina Ricci was great in Black Snake Moan and the nudity was just icing on the cake

I guess it has been an alright year. Mendes, Wilde, Headey, and Talancon's were all good, but they are some of the hottest actresses there are. I just rented The Last Time, and Blood Hunter, not because of this but hey I guess I'm getting a couple more of these in.

And here I thought the most memorable nude scene of the year was Viggo Mortenson's in Eastern Promises--Not because he was naked but because something actually happened in the scene that advanced the plot.

Seriously: In this day and age of readily available porn, if you're watching a non-porn movie just to see some bare breasts, that's pretty sad.

I was stunned that this many movies had nudity of any sort in them this year. Sometimes when I watch movies from the '80's and '70's I am reminded at how much nudity has decreased in film while, naturally, the violence has probably quadrupled in amounts, graphic, and gratuitous use of special effects ala 300 cyber-blood spurting. Then again, as aluded to above, perhaps the drop in regular movie nudity is relative to the increase in porn?

Yep, that's what I'm telling you. Especially if the actress in question goes on to do hundreds of interviews where she claims to only have agreed to do the nude scene(s) because she was making an artistic statement and/or it was important for the character.
