Bernard Greenhouse, one of the most esteemed cellists of his time, has given recitals in concert halls across the globe and released numerous recordings of his music. A founding member of the Beaux Arts Trio, in which he remained for more than 32 years, Greenhouse is also acknowledged to be a great teacher, having held positions at Rutgers University and the New England Conservatory, as well as teaching master classes all over the world. In this documentation of one of his classes at London's Wigmore Hall, he takes six marvelously gifted students through classics of the cello repertory. Also included is the only recorded performance of Greenhouse playing the C-minor Bach Sarabande, as well as an interview with renowned cellist and teacher Ralph Kirshbaum. [More]
