"BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE" is a sexy romp of love and lust with surprising results. Maggie meets the woman of her dreams Kim just hours before her mother, Lilia, and brother, Paul, move in with her. When the four end up sharing a loft, Maggie believes she must keep her affair a secret but it is Maggie's clandestine romance that inadvertently introduces her family to a host of new experiences, all of which are potentially... better than chocolate.

Critic Reviews for Better Than Chocolate
Anne Wheeler's sexy, funny, poignant film, from a bright script by Peggy Thompson, is a real charmer, with considerable brains.
Plays like a 'very special episode' of a sitcom. That is, one with explicit nudity and sex.
Better Than Chocolate is warm and loving, if not partcularly wise or nuanced.
The makers of gay-themed films often ignore this rule: Romantic comedy clichés don't become innovative just because the lovers are the same sex.
Audience Reviews for Better Than Chocolate
There were many little flaws in this film, and some story directions I would have done differently, but it was an enjoyable piece and one of the better Canadian-born films.
