The movie has a heart, yes, but not a very big one.

Reviews for Big Daddy
The kid is good, Mann and Swanson cut curvy figures and the ubiquitous Buscemi is a riot as a mercurial street bum.
This lightweight, bubblegum caper synthesises robust, physical humour, self-deprecation and witty one liners. The main problem, as with most other dumb boy pictures, is that the supporting characters are underwritten.
Ending is predictably gooey but Sandler's edge staves off the sludge for long enough in an otherwise fresh and funny piece.
After seeing how funny and talented Sandler's fellow SNL alum Mike Myers is, Sandler's one note shtick seems pretty lame.
Just when you thought it was safe to see another Adam Sandler movie, along comes Big Daddy.
A sure sign of a pending apocalypse: I enjoyed Adam Sandler's new movie.
Although it comes with spit and plenty of urine, Big Daddy also sneaks in a load of charm and a big heart!
I was perplexed by some of the decisions of the filmmakers to try to make this film into a comedy.
Sonny is heroic and right, even when he seems ludicrous and wrong. And this is the elegance of the Sandler film formula: for all its supposed anarchy, antics and acting out, it really just wants to reinstate the same old same old.
Big Daddy is clear evidence that -- for the moment at least -- this pony doesn't need a new trick.
Sandler's latest film isn't much of step up from those previous encounters, but it retains all of their good-natured affability.
