Just step away. Put down your wine glass Mr.Variety and **** off. And then stop reviewing. And then die. If you think this movie doesn't add up to something of considerable awesomeness, you deserve to die. Simple as that.

I should mention that this might be my favorite movie. With that being said I actually think this review is pretty good in some ways, and at least forgivable if he only saw it once. If you read it, it's actually not all that negative and I can see the "adds up to considerably less than..." comment. I can't recall my reaction the first time I saw it, but it's so goddamn weird I say you need to watch it at least two or three times to even begin to appreciate how great it truly is. It has the best replay value of all-time in my opinion, it never gets old.

if anyone here would actually read this review, they would see that it actually shouldn't be designated 'rotten'. what i do think is that this film isn't trying to sum up to anything, so there i have to disagree with McCarthy there. Lebowski lives in the moment, each scene a little gem, not necessarily leading up so some great revelation, but just because its the dude, it's all ok, man. it's just absurd to me that people can't just say their opinions but have to resort to name calling if someone thinks differently than you. this review is very well written and observant, but just a little too searching in a film that's all about surface moment to moment pleasures .. people, we get it's your favorite film, but it doesn't have to be everybody's, and no, we're not idiots if its not ours too ..
