Wow. Some of these critics are awful. No taste. What is a good comedy if this isn't?

Another bad Coen film? I am guessing your a big fan of films with Keanu Reeves and Ben Affleck. There are the most bankable directors in the business. This film is a cult classic and the Coen brothers are brilliant. Simplicity and cleverness takes talent and blockbuster hits today do not know what that means.

I read the full review. Given that the reviewer did not review this until late in the game, he really drops the ball in that he never addresses why so many critics loved it and yet he doesn't. Looking at the other reviews and his own statement on "disappointing comedies..." I think it is clear he was predisposed to not like Coen brothers comedies (and it looks like most of their films). Really, for such a new review, I would have expected some discussion on how well (or not) it holds up over time.

It is a cult classic and like many cult classics, there will be some who cannot stand taht something is a cult film and will ignore it. For a good review of this, look up Roger Eberts. He gave it 3 stars, but gives a plethora of good stuff about the movie, feels it resembled Raising Arizona in spirit too much and lost its train of thought, but that ultimately it was a rich movie. That was a much better review, makes you understand it is flawed, but still really fun.
