This sequel to the first "Black Adder" series takes place 100 years later, in the Renaissance, and Edmund Blackadder (or rather his descendant of the same name) is no longer in line to the throne of England. He is, however, a favorite of Queen Elizabeth, who is rather fond of the dashing young lord. She does think of executing him periodically... just to see the look on his face. The threat of death does not stop Edmund from trying to circumnavigate the globe (to spite Sir Walter Raleigh), marrying a girl named Bob, and executing a couple of Catholics - who are just dying to have their heads cut off.
