Movie Info

Black Rainbow stars Jason Robards as a cynical phony evangelist and Rosanna Arquette as his slightly jaded daughter. Robards is quite successful in passing his daughter off as a psychic. Suddenly, Patricia's skills at prognostication become genuine--and the consequences could be fatal. Though produced by a British company, Black Rainbow was filmed in North Carolina, making excellent use of its deep-south zeitgeist. The film doesn't always work, but enough of it hits the bull's eye to make this 100 minutes' worth of faux religiosity and southern-fried decadence worthwhile.more

A great picture? No, but an intriguing one.

An effectively eerie supernatural thriller - even if it tries to exorcise a few too many ghosts for its own good.

Audience Reviews for Black Rainbow

For an older, low budget movie it was ok.I don't think they explained well enough for some at the beginning that she and her father were fakes until she started really hearing voices of dead people.I also didn't care for the weird ending. Not the very end,but the whole scene right before with her father and the killer and her "presence".It seemed out of place and sort of just thrown in.
