Dolly Parton stars as an up-and-coming country & western singer (a role that obviously stirred up some memories for her) in this made-for-TV drama. Leanna Taylor (Parton) ran away from home when she was a teenager to escape her abusive family, hoping to find a career in Nashville as a singer. Years later, Leanna still finds herself struggling along the margins of the music business, despite her talent.
