I had exactly the opposite reaction: the 3D I have seen in the past puts effect so blatantly in front of story that it completely backfires. Bolt, on the other hand, gave us the most breathtaking 3D I have ever seen - and the WHOLE TIME I was thinking "Thank GOD they're not shoving a ladder in my face to show off the 3D". OK, the buckled and shoved a ladder in my face - but only on a couple occasions and it could almost be forgiven because it was tastefully done in the context of high action.
