The jokes aren't a match for Pixar's best, and there's too much sentimentality (as if Lasseter were determined to keep Disney's cartoons just that little bit less cool than Pixar's), but this is still an above-average children's film.

disney cartoons less cool than the pixar ones???
first of all bolt was made in 18 months rather than the usual 4 years of making in order to premiere a movie in 2008 and its really hard to develop a character like mittens in that period of time
and second i think up (witch is from pixar) has more sentimentality than bolt and their characters still cool)
so please think twice before you state something mr porter

I see agree on this.

Firstly, the sentimentality in Bolt really adds to the experience. The emotional scenes at the end were amazingly touching, even more so than Wall-e in my opinion.

And to suggest that Lasseter would intentionally pushing the sentimentality to make Disney cartoons "a bit less cool than Pixar's" is absolutely preposterous.
