"The Bourne Ultimatum" is supreme entertainment.

After learning about his mysterious past, Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) uses his killer instincts to exact revenge on those responsible for his plight. The trail of vengeance leads from the streets of Moscow to company headquarters in New York City. "The Bourne Ultimatum" is a first-class, intelligent action thriller that answers the remaining questions in the series. Tying up all of the loose ends, this satisfying conclusion to the spy trilogy stands on its own without having to see the first two films. But watching "The Bourne Identity" and "The Bourne Supremacy" before seeing the third installment will add to your enjoyment. Once again, Paul Greengrass ("The Bourne Supremacy") is in the director's chair - taking his cast and crew to several exotic locations. The end result looks as spectacular as the James Bond movies. Matt Damon IS Jason Bourne in a commanding performance that overshadows the impressive list of supporting players. Joan Allen returns as Pamela Landy, who is investigating Bourne's secretive background. Julia Stiles is back as agent Nicky Parsons and David Strathairn adds credibility as CIA Deputy Director Noah Vosen. Albert Finney appears briefly as the doctor who engineered Bourne's identity. Only some close-up, shaky cinematography during chase scenes distracts rather than putting the audience into the action. The rest of the film is astounding, with an inventive ending that will please fans of the series. "The Bourne Ultimatum" is supreme entertainment.
