The result isn't a deep film, but rather a profound one.
Unbelievably unbelievable! Was it normal procedure to allow a camp commandant's family to live "on site"? And was security so slack around the camps? The German kid was never apprehended and dug his way into the camp without any trouble! Those 2 kids could have sabbotaged Hitler's plans from day 1 of the Holocaust! With a shovel? Movie was a waste of time! What was the message? You can save the world with a shovel - if you're smart?

It's about protraying this extremely horrific and dark matter through the eyes of an innocent child. It's very profound, and has subtle morals everywhere. If you can't see it, you're blind or dumb. And wake up. Not every story has a happy ending.

Actually if you would educate yourself before criticizing the film you would know many camps did have little to no security. why? because where are the jews going to go? run off into the fields and starve to death? and I don't know if that was the case for this or just that it was a child they didn't bother to worry. either way it wouldn't be far from accurate. As for the message your joking im sure, but it appears to be more about, when it comes to war, imagining that it was your family who was suffering, and recognizing the horror of it.
