Movie Info

Boycott is one of the handful of Iranian films given a limited American release. The plot is not easily graspable for audiences unfamiliar with current Iranian culture. Suffice to say that the film's principal goal is not to entertain an audience. As in the like-vintage Iranian feature Beyond the Mist, the raison d'etre of Boycott is to promote a specific political and religious ideology. Running 120 minutes, the film takes its time travelling from issue to issue. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Not a very good film in Mohsen Makhmalbaf's opus, but still worth a look to see how much he has developed as a filmmaker.
