I don't know if people understand that it is Disney Pixar. This is because Pixar animation is trying to help Disney with it's stories. Disney is just trying to continue their princess stories for today's generation of little girls.
I agree with you Stephen, this movie is completely flat. The characters are weak and boring, and this movie just never got off the ground. However, Pixar never disappoints with their visual effects.
Review by Michele H - My husband and I Just saw this movie last night, and we both thought it was great! Quick moving and surprising twist to the story .. Also, more than a few humorous sides. This is a film parents can take their kids to and enjoy along with them! The people trashing this pix have lost their "young at heart" vision and IMHO have moved on to viewing movies as only enjoyable if something is being blown up! I found this movie refreshing ... Much on the same order as another Disney pix, Tangled! And the animation ... Amazing!
In answer to some of the previous posts, it's not RT that determines fresh or rotten, I believe the reviewer assigns it. And despite most of the comments below - this was NOT a negative review. It's not a great review by any means, but the key phrase above is "PLEASANTLY" safe. And if you read the whole review, not just the quick blurb above, that fits. I happen to agree with the review and his rating. This did not live up to normal Pixar standards, but it was decent, much better than a lot of other kids stuff out there. And I think that's part of the key - unlike most Pixar, this was aimed much more squarely at a younger audience than most Pixar films. As adults, my wife and I found it "decent enough." But we were in a theater full of young kids - and they all seemed to absolutely love it. Put it all together, not great, but worthy of a marginally fresh review...
