Ten-year-old singing sensation Billy Breen stars in this unusual ice skating musical as Tommy, a boy who gets a job at a Philadelphia ice skating rink in order to help his widowed mom (Dolores Costello) get out from under the thumb of their unbearably stern relatives (Margaret Hamilton and Billy Gilbert). At the rink, Tommy meets up with six-year-old figure skating prodigy Irene Dare, and things start looking pretty bright. There's songs, lots of skating, and a big ice show finale. Other familiar faces in the cast include Charlie Ruggles, Johnathan Hale, and Charles "Dusty" King. Cline made another musical with Breen that same year, HAWAII CALLS.
