'enlivened by strong performaces'? Is that a joke?! This movie's raison d'etre is to embarrass Anne Hathaway (who is, admittedly, a brilliant actress) and to simultaneous slay any existing idea that Kate Hudson can act. Because she can't. Is this the worst film ever? Yes, yes it is.

If the film were scared of making the central friendship the most important relationship, then surely that'd mean it was completely missing the point?

It's just something I'd always take as a given.
