Can't directors just say "NO!" to remakes of their films???

i don't even care too much for horror and this bothers me. here's an idea. if people want to see certain older films, they should rent them.

Sadly, directors usually do not own the rights to the films they make; the studios do. And now that the studios are run by accountants, instead of people who actually care about filmmaking, they churn out crappy remakes, inane sequels and TV rip-offs ad nauseum. They only way to stop them is if the 14 year-olds who don't know any better were to stop paying to see this garbage.

I don't mind seeing someone else's interpretation of stories and films; however, the people making these films are getting paid way too much money to only be doing remakes.

At least THE BROOD wasn't very good to begin with...

Isn't the most pertinent question, who the **** is Cory Goodman? IMDB was no help 'tall.

Admittedly, The Brood isn't great or anything like that. But it was still a unique creation of Cronenberg. It's not every day you see a woman lick a bloody fetus.

Jesus, next they'll remake Videodrome with Blu-ray players in people's chests.

Most directors would probably love to say no but unfortunately they often have no say especially for films made early in their career. In most of these cases it is a studio just out to make a quick buck.

Yeah, I'll admit that the "birth" scene was quite a sight. I don't often love Cronenberg films but I still think they're worth watching.

not that good? you people do not know anything about what makes a good film. the acting, the underlying themes, the atmosphere.....or is it because there's too little action for your hyperactive minds.
