Critic Review - Reel Film Reviews

The first 45 minutes or so of Bully is so similar to Kids, with the teens doing absolutely nothing except having sex and getting high, that it almost negates the effectiveness of the rest of the film.

No I disagree. The beginning half of film is just setting up to the second half. The sex scenes are about 45/55 split between the two segments.

This film explores the dark world of kids who would even think of doing something like this, and it's kind of like The Baader-Meinhof Complex in that it gives you the periphery behavior of a group of people that also stand for a plan of action.

I kind of agree. The second half of the film was brilliant and makes a real impact. But Clark kind of sabotages that with all the unneccessary voyeurism. He handed the cynics a reason to dismiss what is actually a very dramatic film. Shame.
