Audience Reviews for The Burning Moon

Sooner or later every horror fan runs out of things worth watching and has to resort to scraping the bottom of the barrel (like I've been doing the last few weeks). This is where you'll find amateur self-proclaimed filmmakers like Jörg Buttgereit (the execrable Nekromantik movies) or Fred Vogel (August Underground) and Olaf Ittenbach.
The difference it seems with Ittenbach is that unlike his infamous counterparts he seems to actually want to make a movie and not just resort to cheap shock value.
That is not to say Burning Moon is worth a flip because its most definitely not.
Other than some ok gore and a really insane version of Hell near the end everything else is third rate.
It's an ok introduction to Ittenbach and I plan on watching something more recent of his to see if he has gotten any better and can graduate him from Vogal, Buttgereit and the rest of their cesspool. Until then--to be continued.

Olaf ittenbach directed this? I am not surprised but I was just disappointed with how badly acted the film is. If this is a comedy then I would actually enjoy this film slightly more. I didn't know what I was doing to resort to watching a German underground horror film like this.

An early Ittenbach film, and one of my faves.  He takes the anthology approach to tell little stories fully intended to gross out the audience.  Luckily I eat that shit up.  If you like Ittenbach, this is a must see.
