Eli Roth to Direct Hush-Hush "Hostel" Project
by Scott Weinberg | March 10, 2005
Discuss Article
Those who've been eagerly anticipating the next feature from "Cabin Fever" maniac Eli Roth may have an all-new project to look forward to, but don't expect too much information! Roth will direct a horror flick entitled "Hostel" for Sony's Screen Gems division, and all we know for sure is that Jay Hernandez ("Friday Night Lights," "Ladder 49"Wink will "star as a traveler abroad." Considering Mr. Roth's passions and influences, one can reasonably expect this "Hostel" to be pretty darn...hostile.

Cabin Fever is just misunderstood, most of the people ive showed it too are so confused as to why i like it, but being a huge horror fan i really couldnt of appreciated more what eli did with the movie, i cant wait to see what he does next, what ever happened to the project with Richard Kelly?

Cabin Fever sucked big time... I let myself into the hype surrounding that movie and rented it, willing that it would either scare me, shock me with gore... hey, even a goosebump would have been welcomed... But instead the deepest feeling that that movie awoke in me was utter boredom ! Not even the black humor made me smile! What a letdown... And then I watched the DVD extras where Eli appears over and over again trying to be funny. Now that was even harder to watch.

If your not a fan of 70's and 80's Horror the movie isnt for you. Its all those suttle refrences and similarities that makes me love the movie.
