Jan de Bont raped the remake of "The Haunting" and his attachment to this project doesn't make me want to see it.

Besides, do we really need a PB sequel?

Is this sequel REALLY necessary? I mean, how far can you take a story about surfing and bank robbers who've already been caught and/or killed?

Although it would be amusing to see Clinton added to the Ex-Presidents.

Is the world's film industry really this desperate for stories? Or is it desperate for producers who won't bank roll a project unless some guarantee can be attached to it.

Of course the answer is obivous.

yeah remaking asian action crime dramas are such a bad idea that the last one was such a failure it finally gave Scorsese an Oscar and maybe you heard of it? the Departed?

Except this isn't a remake, it's a sequel. Read the article.

Not to mention that the orginal Point Break was not an Asian crime drama. Did you read any part of the article?

And that was a pity Oscar for Scorsese.

and in all seriousness, honestly is there a difference between most sequels and remakes?

And you seriously think a sequel to point break is not for the most part going to be a remake?

I mean seriously come on!

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding... you are the winner for using the word "serious" (or some variation thereof)in three consecutive sentences! You must be very serious. And by the way it's Myanmar, not Mryamar. And it used to be Burma if your world atlas is no older than 1989. And also your a big dummy with dog poop for brains. Seriously.

wow. you know how to spell Myanmar...that means your opinion is so much more valid than nogard 46. get lost and put your time to better use. Who cares if you know what year atlases included Myanmar. Nogard 46 has a point. Asian inspired crime remakes/sequals/stories (whatever you want to call them) have been pretty successful (ever heard of Old Boy?,....american version comming soon). so, what is your point? um...lets see hear...you know alot about atlases.

And no, nogard does not have any point, are you retarded??? You need to read the article and everyone's comments one more time. You are clearly on the same brain dead wavelength as the other guy.

yeah excuse me for misreading, and not looking into that story too deeply. because we all know movie remakes/sequels are so much more important than half a million people dying and rotting away in the streets Mryamar and few 100,000 dead due to earthquakes in China. But yeah lets get back to who is remaking what and who should or shouldnt get Oscars.

May 15 - 12:49 PM

Are you serious? First, you were the one trying to make the argument about "who is remaking what" in the first place. You are on Rotten Tomatoes, movie forum, arguing your point and you have the nerve use that as a smoke screen for your lack of attention?? You are sick. Also in case you need to be reminded, since you are so busy multi-tasking, you are here too so where does your personal involvement in the aid relief come in hmm??

If you took an extra 60 seconds to actually look at the article instead of making smug, false comments about remakes and sequels you wouldn't have had to do that. And no, a sequel is not a remake. The only way for a Point Break sequel to be a remake would be to bring back all of the characters who died horribly in the first movie. SO, with different characters, a different story I would have to say you are completely wrong.

a "Point Break" sequel? We already have like 3 of them. They are called "Fast and the Furious 1, 2 and 3" they were the SAME movie.
Inexperienced agent (insert generic name here) is assigned to go undercover in seedy world of (insert your extreme sport here) to determine if these seemingly innocent ruffians are actually thieves. During his investigation the agent befriends a criminal and can't decide whether he should do the job he was hired to do, or continue on his crooked path or villany!!
Funny thing is, Paul Walker even played his role in the first "Fast and the Furious" like a blonde Keanu Reeves. He had a good amount of "Dude" moments.
