Cannes 2009: Bridget Jones Becomes a Musical
Working title to produce live action stage show.

Bridget Jones's Diary is set to be a musical according to Variety.

Working Title are producing the show, and will be hoping to replicate the success of the live-action Billy Elliot stage show - which has just been nominated for a ton of Tony Awards.

Helen Fielding, who wrote the ridiculously successful books, will apparently contribute to the lyrics.

Expect to see this heart-warming tale of the slightly overweight singleton sometime in 2011. Renee Zellweger played the character in two big screen adaptations -- Bridget Jones's Diary and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.
