Long before Raymond Burr starred in the Perry Mason television show, the famed San Francisco lawyer was popularized in a series of novels by Erle Stanley Gardner, several of which were translated into films starring William Warren. In this, the second of the series, a young woman wins first prize in a beauty contest for legs, only to have the contest promoter run out of town with her prize money. When Perry Mason is brought into the case, he quickly tracks down the promoter, only to find him dead. When Perry sees the broad with prize-winning legs doing the splits, he figures he's got the murderer nailed. But she insists she didn't do it, and a number of other suspects just might have a reason.
