Halle Berry Is The Perfect Stranger

Some actors do better than others after winning the Oscar trophy. In Halle Berry's case, she clearly belongs to the latter camp. After winning a best actress Oscar for "Monster's Ball," she goes on to do disposable movies like "Swordfish," "Gothika," and the disastrous "Catwoman." Today, Empire Online has learned that Halle Berry has signed on to star in "The Perfect Stranger." It may not be another "Catwoman," but judging by the premise, it's not promising. According to the article, Berry will play a journalist who goes "undercover on the internet to hunt down the evil folk who murdered her friend." Julia Roberts was previous attached to star in the project before dropping out.

Although both Swordfish and Monster's Ball were made the same year, I think Swordfish was released prior to Monster's Ball -- hence, the extra dollars for seeing Berry's breasts in Swordfish (if they'd only waited!). So, really we're talking about only two films since receiving her Oscar. She doesn't really have a great filmography to begin with, and I'm betting she still isn't seeing top-quality scripts regardless of the award. I see her as a victim of a closed-minded, conservative Hollywood machine and the only way she will break out of that stigma is to star in independent and non-mainstream films, where she can prove her range (assuming she has any). However, I also see her in collusion with that same machine. Let's admit it, Berry wants the fame and the fortune more than the legacy of good roles, and Catwoman is the result of such a pact. I'm sure there will be more Catwomans in her future.

Not only is she hot. She's super hot. By far the hottest Bond girl yet.

and she was NOT hot at all in that bond flick -see, it's not even that memorable to me, and she had the worst hair-do in that movie.
