Reviving the old-fashioned variety-show format of the 1950s and injecting it with a strong dose of contemporary, urban humor, CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER PRESENTS is sketch comedy in the vein of IN LIVING COLOR, the popular FOX series from the early 1990s. The show has a strong, ethnically diverse backup cast, as well as some great dancers, and the writers are the same masterminds behind IN LIVING COLOR. Cedric creates memorable and recognizable characters in his skits. Most notable are the formidable Cafeteria Lady, the smooth, slick marriage counselor Dr. Love, who bears more than a passing resemblance to Barry White, and Velvet, a carefully coiffed crooner with a penchant for commercial jingles. One of the Original "Kings of Comedy," Cedric the Entertainer is a distinctive comedic force, and with this show he takes the helm as an innovator of unique vision and a strong voice. [More]
